Team Practice

 

The Manhattan Track Club invites you to join them for group runs every Tuesday and Thursday evening in Central Park. Come join us for a jaunt or stop by just to say hi. Often we congregate afterwards for some grub and suds, so be ready to work up an appetite.

Tuesdays are typically a long interval or Fartlek workout and Thursdays are generally a recovery day. Most Thursday runs gravitate between 6:00 and 6:30 pace... at times a little slower and at times a little faster... so if you're out of shape, be prepared to work a little, and if you're in shape, plan an easy day. Several notable local runners are often in attendance, sharing their wisdom and running/life anecdotes, including a former 2:16 marathoner and first Boston finisher, a 4:02 miler/14:02 5ker, a 1:47 800/3:41 1500 guy, and several 30:00 10k athletes. Of course the great thing about our sport is the fact that its not elitist in the least and for that reason we encourage anyone who can keep up for a few miles to jump in and run. Whether you run 18:00 min or 12:40 min for 5k, if you're ok running 6:00-6:30 pace, we would love to meet you and have a few beers afterwards.
